Technical Education

Technical Education is the backbone of well-rounded development and progress of a country. Every sector of development and economy essentially requires well-qualified, highly skilled, and well-experienced technical professionals for the desired growth and advancements. Technical Education In India

Technical education in India is quite at par with the International standards, and therefore, it has been drawing a large number of students and professionals of diverse fields from all across the world for higher and technical education every year. The Technical Education in India is planned, updated, controlled, and regulated by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). AICTE is a national-level statutory body (since the year 1987) under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, primarily responsible for the planning and maintenance of co-ordinate and integrated development, at par with the global standards, in the technical and management education system throughout the country.

Coming under the Department of Higher Education, AICTE is essentially involved in the up-keeping of its quality education standards, appropriate educational infrastructure in all across the country, and comprehensive technical education in every part of India, through its quality accreditations. For doing these all, AICTE is supported by many statutory boards of higher education related to diverse fields of technical education.

Most of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) offer technical education of global recognition and repute. Performance of other technical education institutes, too, has been very satisfactory. In 2008, there were about 2400 engineering colleges, and over 1200 Management Institutes approved by AICTE in all over India.
