Film-Buffs Yash Chopra Falls to Prey

Known for king of celluloid romance, film-maker Yash Chopra died on Sunday because he was suffered with dengue fever. He was 80 and just announced a week before they won’t direct any more movies.

A spokesperson said Chopra died in the evening. He had been hospitalized for a week due to dengue fever.

"I'm in upset and numb, can't trust the news, the man who commemorated love, Mr. Yash Chopra is no more," actor Akshay Kumar said on Twitter.

Chopra is lived with his wife Pamela and two sons Aditya and Uday. Born in 1932 in Lahore, now in Pakistan, Chopra was privileged by top Indian actors with his movies noticed as a definite way to turn into a strike with audiences.

The veteran proved his spirit with strongly emotional and tragic movies, many of which went on to turn into box-office blockbusters.

Chopra's Bollywood career covered five decades, and at an event staining his 80th birthday last month, Chopra described how he came to Mumbai with 200 rupees in his pocket, hoping to create it as a film director.

Since then, Chopra produced some of Indian cinema's most outstanding films such as "Deewar", "Kabhi Kabhie", "Silsila" and "Chandni". Tripping on his achievement, Chopra sets up Yash Raj Films, one of Bollywood's leading production houses, stirring out at least three movies a year.

Chopra also made Indian cinema's longest-running smash hit, "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (1995), which marked the introduction of his son Aditya as director.

"I have never produced romantic films. I have produced films on human relations, and humans are convoluted people," he said at the occasion in September. With Chopra at the wheel for the last time, "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" opens in cinemas in November, eight years after his last venture "Veer-Zaara" a fervent story of love across borders.
