Mr. Bachchan to Donate Rs 11 Lakh

Mega-star of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan has announced an endowment of Rs 11 lakh to Maharashtra Police Welfare Fund. The actor was in the metropolis to take part in a function as a part of Road Safety movement organized by the Thane police, where he made the statement.

The actor offered awards to the champions of 'Road Safety Competition'. In his speech, Bachchan showed gratitude the police for making sure smooth flow of traffic day after day.

The actor also said he was all set to contribute to a documentary on road protection. Saying that every person must follow the traffic rules, Bachchan said every time he spots somebody breaking the traffic rules, he stop and wishes the person to follow the rules.

Thane Police Commissioner K P Raghuvanshi and senior police officers were in attendance on the event.
