Cancer Treatment to cost less now

After the Indian government has recently lifted a patent license, the Indian pharma major, cipla has announced a massive reduction in the costs of cancer drugs for up to 76 per cent which has added a relief to the cancer patients and their families. The treatment of cancer has shocked up people due to high costs of medicines and overall treatments but from now, the patients are definitely going to get a relief from at least the treatment costs. According to the latest changes been made, the price of Cipla's generic kidney cancer drug, Sorafenib, will be available at Rs 6,840 a month from the earlier Rs 27,950 whereas the lung cancer drug Gestinib price has been cut down by 60 per cent to just over Rs 4000, instead of earlier Rs 10,200. Apart from these changes, this important move has also brought a massive reduction in Temozolamide, a very effective brain tumour treatment drug for which the prices have come down to Rs 5000 from the original Rs 20,250.
