Indonesia bans Lady Gaga

US pop singer Lady Gaga has received has become the first foreign artist to be denied a concert permit by Indonesian authorities. Gaga was scheduled to hold a concert at bung karno main stadium in senayan, central Jakarta on June 3 but the national police spokesman insp, Gen. Saud usman Nasution said that his office had denied the concert after receiving recommendation from the Jakarta police, along with various hearing from Islamic group who started protested against the show. The protests were done by the Islamic groups against the singer’s sexualised image, provocative dance moves and allegations she could underline the country moral fibre. Gaga earlier faced protests of the first show in the This Way Ball in Seoul, South Korea, and the concert was limited to those aged 18 and over as a result. The singer last performed in Saitama, Japan on Sunday and was all set to perform in Indonesia on june 3 which unfortunately got cancelled off by the authorities of the nation.
