The prototype gun was swayed out of the Tata Power SED facility in Bangalore's electronic city this October. It will lead the group's offer for the Army's necessity for 814 mounted gun systems for Rs.8500 crore. The Tata gun will be India's first new howitzer since it’s acquire of Bofors guns. The following bribery scandal torpedoed the attainment of further howitzers from Sweden. The Bofors howitzers executed fabulously in the Kargil clash of 1999. The Indian Army needs to purchase over 2200 such howitzers in five diverse categories but has been incapable to do so because of other corruption scandals relating firms like Rheinmetall, Singapore Technologies Kinetics, Soltam and Denel.
