Three Maharashtra Students Top ICSE

In spite of a marginal rinse in the overall performance of ICSE students this year, Maharashtra had a lot to applaud about with the three toppers belonging from the state, two from Pune and one from Mumbai. The trio - all girls - scored 98.4%. The two toppers from Pune, Simran Khanuja and Anika Agrawal, are from St Mary's school. Speaking after the results were declared on Friday, Simran said she studied on her personal and did not go to any private coaching class to practice for the exam. "We have great teachers in school. I chased a set pattern every day after returning back from school. I noted down all that was taught and set my own notes. That was my daily work out when I came home." Anika is out of the nation on vacation, but the school's principal said she is a robotics aficionado. Manasi Arora, third topper from Mumbai, is a student of Chatrabhuj Narsee Memorial School. While the overall pass percentage around India situated at 98.2%, 0.42% less than last year, Maharashtra recorded 99.75%, about 0.15% lesser than in 2012.
