Coal Mining Loss 6 Times More Than 2G

The government has been accused of massive coal scam by the opposition. It is a serious scam, the prime minister must answer, the BJP demands. The prime minister held the coal portfolio when the massive scam- worth 10.67 lakh crores according to the government’s auditor took place, added BJP. The allegations have been made on a coal mining report by the government’s auditor, the comptroller and auditor general (CAG). The CAG estimated loss figures of INR 10.67 lakh crore at March 31, 2011 prices which is six times more loss than 2G but according to the recent information conveyed by the sources in the PMO, told that the CAG report is only in its draft stage and the final stage is still awaited. The report accessed by a newspaper also says the government extended ‘undue benefits’ totaling INR 10.67 lakh crore to commercial entities by allotting 155 coal acreages without an auction during 2004- 09 and the another surprising part is that the beneficiaries include 100 private companies and public sector units.
