The master blaster, Sachin Tendulkar injured his finger during the IPL 5 playing for Mumbai Indians against Chennai super kings which forced him to retire hurt when he tried to defend Doug Bollinger’s delivery in the tournament opener at Chennai on Wednesday. However, it is still not clear whether the injury is just a bruise or a fracture. It was the fifth ball of the ninth over and Tendulkar, who was batting on 15, got a short ball from Bollinger when the incident happened. The ball climbed onto him as the delivery hit one of the green patches and reared up uncomfortably. The batsman faced the next delivery and got a single to go on 16 but at the end of the over, he sought medical attention and was advised to retire, following which he was seen returning to the dug out looking in considerable pain.
