
India is on its way to take a major leap forward in missile technology and military deterrent capability and is all set to test fire its 5,000 km range inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) Agni-V today from a test range off the coast of Odisha. According to the recent reports, the test fire of the missile will be conducted from a test range in wheeler island off the coast of Odisha and as said by DRDO Chief VK saraswat, the missile is being integrated at various facilities for the test launch which will be witnessed by military officials and other agencies that have participated and have been a part in its development. DRDO also plans to conduct more such tests of missile over the next one years after studying and examining the parameters achieved in each subsequent trial. The officials said that Agni-V will be a three-stage, all solid fuel powered, 17-metre tall missile with capability to carry various forms of payload.
