Infosys to Cut About 5000 Employee

Infosys is planning to leave off approx 5,000 employees as the software services provider seems to reduce costs and increase sales, as per the report of Economic Times on Friday.

The report appeared as Infosys Ltd executive co-chairman S. Gopalakrishnan was extracted by other media reports as saying 2013 will be superior than last year for India's IT industry. Gopalakrishnan was quoted as saying intense outlooks for the United States and China would aid the IT sector, as he speaks to an event for the Infosys Science Foundation on Thursday.

Infosys was not instantly available to statement on the reports. Infosys shares were 0.5 percent high, in line with the 0.6 percent increase in the IT sub-index.
