Maruti MPV Ertiga set for launch today

Maruti is all set to launch its first first multipurpose vehicle, The Ertiga today. It is truly a made-for-india car and with this new car, the company will for the first time introduce K-14 WT 1.4 litre petrol engine in india. The car will also be launched in diesel version. Maruti claims that the seven seater car, will come with a fuel efficiency of 20.77 kmpl for its diesel variant (1.3 litre DDiS Super Turbo). In pricing it will follow the middle ground between a sedan and an MUV. "A family sedan today starts above Rs 5 lakh and the MPVs that are available start somewhere around Rs10 lakh”. Moreover, The Company would manufacture the new car at its plant in Gurgaon. With Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki will step into the Utility Vehicle (UV) segment and effectively create a new compact MPV segment in India.
