IIT India

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are considered to be the top notch engineering colleges in India. They are autonomous institutes of engineering and technology. They aim at training the youth to produce engineers and scientists of international standards, to support the socio-economic development of India

IIT Admission

IITs conduct their own entrance exams IIT-JEE for admissions to their institute in which an approximate 400, 000 students appear every year and only 7,500 students get selected out of them. They have 49.5% of their seats reserved for scheduled and backward castes. Admissions to post graduate courses are done through GATE (for M.Tech), JAM (for M.Sc) and CEED (for M.Des). For their Ph. D courses, the personal interviews are more important. However candidates have to appear for written tests as well.

The entrance tests that are conducted by IITs are considered to be tougher than the tests for MIT University even. Owing to the tough standard of the IITs, a large number of institutes have come up which coach the students for the entrance tests. They provide very intensive and specific preparation for the exam and charge a substantial amount as fees. It is not mandatory that one enrolls into these coaching institutes. The aptitude and skills of students differ and thus not every student can get admission into IITs India. The entrance exams mostly test the student’s understandings of the fundamentals and knowledge of application.

For IIT admissions, first one needs to apply for the IIT-JEE. The forms are out by the start of the entrance exam season and after the exam dates are out, within a while the merit list is published online. And then the counseling takes places to admit the students into the respective branches based on their merit.

The student needs to pass his 10+2 with mathematics, physics and Chemistry as his subjects.

The answer to this argument remains equivocal.
